Are you going away for a weekend and do you find it difficult to pack? Packing is often an unavoidable chore and can add stress to your holiday or business trip but it doesn’t have to be! Below you can find tips to make packing much easier.
Make a list
What do you bring with you? When you go away for a few days it’s easy to pack too much. We often pack more than we need and wear. So think about what you want to bring and make a list. Start writing a list at least a few days before you leave so that you don’t forget anything. It will save you time and stress!
Start with the basis
Bring good basic clothing. Each trip is different. Be prepared, look up the Internet for weather conditions so you can dress for it. Are you going on a business trip? You can bring a light suit that you combine in different ways such as, for example, a nice colored silk blouse for the day and a printed top with very feminine shoes in the evening. Is a suit too formal for you? You can wear a nice pair of pants with a airy jacket and shoes for the summer. Bring shoes that you wear to different occasions.
Be realistic
You simply won’t need five pairs of shoes for a weekend away. When packing, think specifically about where and when you’ll wear each item. If you’re not sure when you’ll wear it, don’t take it.
Mix and Match
You don’t need much for a weekend away. Choose basic items that you can mix and match with some tops and blouses. Bring jewelry, a cheerful scarf to create different looks. Try to pack flexible pieces that can be dressed up or down and worn with more than one other item in your suitcase. Plan outfits in advance. Don’t try out a new look. Stick to combinations you know you will feel happy, comfortable and confident in.
Pack light!
To pack efficiently, wear shoes and clothes that take a lot of room in your suitcase and are heavy the day when traveling. Toiletries are often big and heavy. Bring small bottles and samples or do a little research to check out what your destination provides in advance.
