Feeling good is important! In fact, you have to stay true to yourself. But doing the same thing over and over and going for what’s safe and familiar can also be boring and predictable. Moreover, you may decide one day that your look no longer fits who you are anymore.
Something new is refreshing! But I don’t believe you need to take a big step right away, I believe you can actually increase your comfort zone. In other words, you can innovate yourself. Because a certain amount of change feels good. So broaden your horizon it brings energy and inspiration!
With these 3 tips you can increase your comfort zone:
Tip 1/ Repeat the exact same color in your outfit, I often hear that. But why?
Do you wear a color that stands out like a red color, then choose shoes in that color or add jewelry or other accessories in the same color. Such a repetition of exactly the same colors is nice but very safe. Play, do something unexpected! Go against all the traditional style rules and bring a twist to your outfit. Wear colors that are reminiscent to each other but slightly different, such as bright red with pink – or a bit daring – lively red with fuchsia or purple. These colors are all made up of red. This way you’re creating harmony and you put your whole outfit together.
Tip 2/ Avoid over-matching
Of course you want to think carefully about your outfit but it shouldn’t look like you’re trying too hard. An outfit that’s perfect and thought about way too much can be very stiff. And also, you’re not revealing who you really are which can be very boring. Do you want to make your outfit more interesting and surprising? Show some kind of contradiction so it doesn’t seem quite right like a classic dress with an insane accessory like a brooch or bag. Always have some kind of joke or silliness in your outfit. This way you look stylish without being too serious. Create your own look and style. Your style conveys who you are.
Tip 3/ Take your favorite outfit and change one thing
“I always wear that top with that skirt” and “that jacket goes with those pants.” Doing something because you are used to it, I often come across that with my customers. They wear some items of clothing in one certain way and in fixed sets. But sometimes you want that little bit extra in your outfit. So time for change! Try something different and look for new combinations that you normally wouldn’t do. Start with a piece of clothing you love to wear and change one thing! For example add a necklace or put on a different top. A small adjustment does a whole lot with your outfit. So keep playing, trying and pushing your limits!
