Tip 1: mix and match pieces from your winter and summer
Combine lightweight and breathable material such as a sleeveless viscose or silk top or a blouse with short sleeves mixed with a nice warm colorful cardigan. So merge two seasons. You want to look for pieces that add a touch of warmth without contributing much bulk. When mornings are cold you might like to wear your winter coat. To bring that spring vibe, wear your coat open and put on a thin silk scarf.
Tip 3: it’s all about layering clothes
In this transitional period it becomes increasingly difficult in choosing what to wear. Layering is the solution when it comes to this period, layers keep you warm but are also easy to remove should you start to sweat. As you’ll be taking layers on and off, your outfit needs to work in more than one combination. Add different fabrics to mix up the look.
Tip 3: say yes to nude colored shoes
Great colors to wear in the Spring are light tans, beiges and taupes. These are ultimate Spring neutrals even more so than black shoes which can be a bit heavy especially when you wear dark colors such as black pants or dress. Nude colored shoes soften your look.
Tip 4: happy colors
Throw some color into your wardrobe now that the sun is shining! Think of striking fashion colors such as candy pink, coral orange, bright yellow, green grass and purple fever. You only need a small amount of color such as colored earrings or a pendant for that happy and airy feeling. Go for something colorful because you will not only make yourself happy but probably everyone around you too!
Tip 5: before going for something new
Think about whether you need new items to give your wardrobe that ultimate Spring feeling. And before you buy something new, ask yourself: do you feel good about it? Does the item combine easily with what you already have? How often are you going to wear it? How long will the clothing item last before it wears out? What impression do you make with that clothing piece? Buy consciously. So you can keep on enjoying what you wear!
